The Timothy Fund

The Diocese of Venice is training and supporting seminarians to be the priests and pastors of tomorrow.

Annually, the Diocese of Venice budgets over $500,000 to cover the costs related to seminarian education. To address this expense, the diocese created the Timothy Fund in 1997, named after St. Paul’s disciple who eventually became the first Bishop of Ephesus. Paul’s two letters to Timothy are a perfect example of the values that need to be important to seminarians and the faithful as well.

The Timothy Fund is an endowment created to generate enough income to train priests. While the majority of the funds are used for seminarian education, it is occasionally available for continuing education for priests. The fund is a perpetual gift to the people of the diocese for the future of our Church.

You may feel like you are only one person and wonder what difference your gift or prayer can really make. Be assured that by working together, empowered by the Spirit, we can each make a world of difference.

You already know the joy that comes from sharing with the less fortunate. Think about the joy that will be yours when you know you have created a legacy that will provide priests to the diocese forever. You will share in the blessings of all the lives they touch because you made it possible.
